Christian Challenge is a student organization at Fort Lewis College that desires to help students and young adults discover how to begin and deepen a relationship with Jesus, have genuine relationships and meaningful community, and serve others at FLC and around the world.

What we do:

Family Dinner

At family dinner, both Christian and non-Christian students gather at a Challenge staff member’s house for dinner and discussion. Students hang out, build community, eat a home-cooked meal, and get an opportunity to bump into Jesus during the staff-led discussions typically looking into Jesus’ life and ministry. Family dinners are weekly during the school year on Thursday nights. Rides are given at 6:30 pm from the pick-up area just outside of the Student Union Post Office on campus.

Worship Night

At the Challenge Worship Night, students gather on campus to worship Jesus together, pray together, and hear a message that goes deeper than the average weekly discussions at family dinner. The worship night starts at 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday night of every month during the school year.

Adventures

Many students come to FLC for the outdoors. And why wouldn’t they? It’s a beautiful area with lots of opportunities to get outside. Throughout the school year, Challenge runs a lot of trips, adventures, and excursions on the weekends. There’s hiking, mountain climbing, camping, waterfall jumping, snowshoeing, and much more. It’s not only a good way to experience God’s creation in new ways but also a great way to build community with friends on these Challenge adventures.

Mission Trips

Over the years, Challenge has not just been focused on living out our faith on campus but also off-campus. The ministry has always had a heart to give students the opportunity to serve in other countries. There have been spring break trips to Mexico to help build up a school down there. Students have participated in summer trips to Eastern Europe to help with the refugee crisis. There have also been backpacking trips to some of the most remote regions of the planet, from the mountains of Peru to the jungles of the Philippines. Challenge aims to provide opportunities for students to serve Jesus all over the world.

Impactful

Thru personal one-on-one discipleship and mentorship, Christian Challenge strives to make a positive impact in the lives of students and in their faith.
